Nice post. At the highest level, happiness is the organizing intrinsic value. Other values are instrumental in getting there.

Hey, great read as always. I particularly appreciated the point about how everything we do, think, or avoid boils down to pursuing happiness and avoiding suffering, which offers such a clear objective function for human behavior. It’s a realy elegant way to frame the complexity of our choices, especially when considering the seemingly irrational peculiarities you mentioned.
